Description
Replacement crankshaft friction washer for the McLaren V8. The factory crank uses this washer to secure correct timing between the timing gear drive and the crankshaft, and it should always be replaced when rebuilding the engine. The friction surface raises the coefficient of friction between the fastened faces, allowing as much as four times more torque to be transmitted so the joint can withstand higher shear loads. A loose front pulley or a damaged friction washer can also be the real cause of a cam phaser fault code.
